RECYCLING
PROJECT.

The first initiative we wanted to bring with this flagship store was AROMATICA's own virtuous circle project, called the "Infinite Plastic Cycle" project! The "Infinite Plastic Cycle" zone is a space for AROMATICA's resource circulation campaign that allows everyday plastic waste to be used again and again. Next to the entrance to the store is a collection box where you can recycle all your used items. What's different from the residential recycling box is that the sorting categories are far more detailed: with glass, PP, PE, transparent PET, colored PET, plastic bottle caps, and other.

In fact, products that look like they are made of single material consist of several different materials, such as PP, PET, and PE. If they are not sorted properly during disposal, they will be dumped as general waste in the garbage screening area. When a customer visits Zero Station and discards containers according to the sorting method to recycling boxes, AROMATICA will screen, collect them with our electric trucks, and produce recycled plastic containers for new AROMATICA products.

Plastic Mill at Garosu-Gil

In the Infinite Plastic Cycle Zone, there's also the Plastic Mill Garosu-gil Branch, which is a collaboration with Seoul Federation for Environmental Movements to create upcycled goods that recycle plastic. They collect small bottle caps or plastic parts that are too small to be recycled in the conventional system and use an injection machine to transform them into soap dishes. In the future, they plan to upcycle plastics into other kinds of household items. At the back door of the Zero Station, there is a waste sorting training site where you can learn how to discard wastes properly. If you found it difficult to distinguish between materials that can and cannot be recycled, AROMATICA staff will help you understand the process in detail.
